STRANDED COVER SNEAK PEAK
Whaddya think? (My kid says it's "SICK!")
I am pretty damn excited to show you the cover my new book, STRANDED.
My publisher says I should tell you up front (in case you don’t want to read the rest of my ramblings today) that we expect to have the pre-order and release dates in about a week to ten days. If you’d like to be among the very first to know when it’s available for purchase, email grp@coyotewebsynergy.com .
And of course, I’ll be making announcements here on Substack.
Oh! And STRANDED will be available as an e-book and in print (on Amazon, Barnes & Nobles, and from a variety of independent booksellers.)
Now where was I…
How Cool Is It To Have My Kid On The Cover?!
And he is wearing my Hat of Infamy. Yes, I still have it and yes, it fits him though my son claims to have bigger brain than I do.
And he’s wearing his grandfather’s jacket. Yes, I still have that, too. And it fit my son until recently. Kids—what can you do? They grow.
I was delighted when my son agreed to be on the cover of STRANDED because his question a little over three years ago, “Dad, did you ever hitchhike?” is the reason I started writing about this experience at all. I thought I’d write one little diddy for Facebook (which my son would never read because he thinks FB is just for us “geezers”) and be done with it.
Three months, twelve more posts, and half a million readers later, an independent publisher said to me, “You know that’s a book, right?”
Well I believe all writing is re-writing.
So I re-wrote the damn thing. And I told the WHOLE story.
(In case you didn’t know, nobody tells the whole story on Facebook…)
It took awhile. I have other projects and contract work, you know. But this book, and the next memoir soon to be released, It’s a Levittown Thing, are close to my heart.
So I’ve finally done my part. I finished my final edit and approved this cover. Once the galley proofs are done, it’ll be out there for you to read!
While we’re waiting, talk to me. Whaddya think of the cover?!
By the way, the cover art is by Barry Goldberg, one very cool cat. Check out his work on Instagram.
‘Til next time…
Doug

VERY cool cover and the fact that is your own son must have doubled the size of your heart.
Looking forward to both books on your forefront!
Love the cover 🥰 Can't wait!
