This song is for anyone who ever missed a train.
That last train home.
Lord knows, I have. Back in "the day" I spent way too many hours stranded in Penn Station in NYC, after racing 20 blocks to catch the 12.01 A.M. to Huntington, and not making it. Miss that sucker and you were stuck for the night. And I'd sit as the stores and food stands in the station closed up and half the lights would go off and they'd lock the bathrooms and the legions of homeless people, who were kept out of the station for most of the day, were allowed in to keep warm or cool. And that's what this song is about.
This is a live version recorded at Kansas Public Radio quite some time ago, with me and Mandolin Dan Hermreck, a true partner in crime. Hope you like it. Oh, by the way, I wrote this song and it’s called Pennsylvania Station.
